Description

A Purim variety show featuring comedy and drag, food, drink, more drink, food, dancing, shaking your thang, and - even a parade. March 19, 7pm at The Pickle Factory, 866 N. Columbia Blvd in Portland (Indoor/open air & outdoor space) This is not your grandmother's Purim. Get your costume ready - the more outrageous the better - and prepare to have some outrighteous fun with Co/Lab, the Alberta Shul and plenty our friends from around town. OUTRAGEOUS because we'll have food, abundant beverages, music, dancing, a variety show featuring Portland (Jewish) Drag Queen Poly Poptart, among others, a bit of stand-up comedy AND a parade! RIGHTEOUS because this pull-out-the stops City-wide Purim party to raise money for a local organization that serves Portland’s houseless population. Income from the evening will be used to help get houseless Portlanders into tiny homes this Winter. Literally a life changing mitzvah. Tzedakah (charity) is an important part of the Purim tradition. Please consider making a generous donation over and above the cost of your ticket so we can help make a difference in the lives of Portlanders who really need our help! The Pickle Factory (not an actual pickle factory) is a beautiful restored warehouse space in Portland. One of the garage-door walls will be opened up for cross ventilation and we’ll have a large, heated tent space outside as well. Masks, proof of vaccination and ID) are required to attend this event. No exceptions. More events & about Co/Lab PDX at colabpdx.org Co/Lab is a new initiative for Portland’s Jewish community: Live and interactive public events, wide-ranging cultural presentations and performances, and rich educational opportunities. Never boring, always relevant, deeply Jewish.
