In honor of the National Cherry Blossom Festival, we celebrate the season with books, crafts and blossom-inspired small business specials. BOOKS + BLOSSOMS ARE POPPING UP!TURNING THE PAGE // CARPE LIBRUM BOOK SALE. Come shop from over 8,000 lightly used books, CDs, DVDs and record albums - all under $6! They'll have something for everyone - including a kids section! Carpe Librum will be set up outside of the Van Ness Main Street office at 4340 Connecticut Avenue in Van Ness from 10 AM - 5 PM. 100% of all sales benefit Turning the Page. In advance of this event, Turning the Page will pick up donations of used books, CDs, DVDs and vinyl records from the neighborhood on Tuesday, April 5th. Interested donors should send an e-mail to [email protected]. They'll arrange to pick up donations curbside or in an apartment lobby. *If you're interested in volunteering to help with set-up before the sale, to help sell books to customers or to help break down the sale, please send an email to [email protected]. Turning the Page engages D.C. public school parents to be more active and effective participants in their children’s education. We'll have a DIY cherry blossom craft station set up outside next to the Carpe Librum book sale. Free. 12-3 PM. BLOSSOM-INSPIRED SMALL BIZ SPECIALS. Stay tuned for info on small biz food and drink specials to enjoy while you're visiting Van Ness, Forest Hills and Wakefield! This event is held in conjunction with DC's National Cherry Blossom Festival. The VNMS event space is located at 4340 Connecticut Avenue, NW, a short walk from the red line metro station. Ample street parking is available. While you're visiting Van Ness, be sure to visit one of our award-winning restaurants or local hidden gems. This event will be held rain or shine. Van Ness Main Street is a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating a vibrant business district for Van Ness in the District of Columbia .
