Welcome to D’Agostino’s Farm Tutoring! My name is Karen. I am 34 years old. I was born and raised in Union County, New Jersey and My husband, 37, was born and raised in Ocean County, New Jersey. I graduated from Monmouth University in 2009 with a bachelors in art and elementary education. We have a five year old daughter who is homeschooled and we live in Waretown, NJ. My husband and I are former teachers who left the profession to start a farm in Waretown, NJ. I taught 1st grade for 8 years in Philadelphia, PA and my husband, a certified NJ teacher, taught music in Camden, NJ. I loved teaching and wanted to stay home with my daughter so I decided to homeschool. After being in the classroom I realized the unique benefit of one on one and small group instruction. Individualized attention is truly the way to master a skill. Let me know what you would like your child to get extra help with and we will focus on that! Along with traditional educational skills and homework help, I can provide an environment for creative learning, exploration, and play. Our farm is approximately 10 acres of woods and fields so going for a nature walk can happen right on our property! As we gear up for the growing season, your child can experience some of the farm life with us like tending to the plants and chickens. I am also a seamstress and would be happy to teach your child some basic sewing skills and how to create simple items. I hope to hear from you soon! Preferred age range: Kindergarten to Fifth grade. Pricing: $25 an hour Hours: and days are based on what works best for you. I can schedule tutoring times any day of the week between the hours of 8am-6pm.
