Brilliant, deeply sensitive pianist Misuzu Tanaka returns to Stonington to share her lifelong insight into Bach with us. She will play keyboard music that late-19th-century pianists and audiences alike loved and knew intimately. The special art of transcribing and arranging music originally for orchestra or the Baroque organ reached its astonishing height at this time. A special treat will be to hear these moving scores on an 1882 Erard, the celebrated Parisian concert grand the great pianists played. La Grua's resonant acoustic will lend this exceptional solo recital wings.
The performance will last under an hour and will run without an intermission.
