Historian-in-Residence Dr. Gene T. Chávez presents the history of Latinos on the Santa Fe Trail and how they created a two-way international trade route and catalyst for cultural exchange between the United States and Mexico. Thomas E. Chavez, Ph.D. renowned New Mexico historian and author will present (via video recording) the Hispano perspective on the Santa Fe Trail.
Led by Historian-in-Residence Dr. Gene T. Chávez, Nuestro Legado is a series of programs that examines historical events and personal stories that are part of or related to current exhibits. These programs are intended to enhance the museum visit. Advanced reservations are not required but space is limited.
