Come and Learn about the Afghan Refugee Relocation Effort Presented by the International Institute of Akron and Hudson DEI Alliance Non-profits and faith-based organizations across the city of Hudson are joining together to meet the most pressing needs of the nearly 150+ refugees from Afghanistan coming to NE, Ohio through the International Institute of Akron with more to follow. According to Madhu Sharma, Executive Director of the International Institute of Akron (IIA),"With the increase in the amount of people coming to Akron from Afghanistan comes an increased need for services and an increase in the need for assistance to overcome many of the barriers encountered by immigrants ."
