Here's a real challenge: try learning something you didn’t want to or choose to learn, by being lectured about it for hours each day…
Yeah, I didn’t think so.
This is why traditional K-12 school sucks. It's forced. It’s boring. It takes too much time for too few results. In fact, it was never really built to educate. It was built to train conformity. And increasingly, our traditional school system is rigged against children, especially our sons, and shot-through with radical indoctrination.
As a dad, I believe the most important choice we make for our kids is where and how they will get an education. Dads must play an active role in their kids’ education. Unfortunately, too many kids are being raised without a dad, and then going to a school where boys encounter very few male role models, or worse, an environment that actively denigrates boys and men.
Boys in particular need fathers figures in their lives to model what it means to grow up, be a good person and a good man. I see many of our country's problems stemming from the alarming number of fatherless homes, leaving our kids to be raised by a broken school system for much of their days.
Without men to help raise young boys, here’s what happens: Boys are now only half as likely as girls to graduate from college. Boys in their twenties are five times as likely as girls to commit suicide. Boys’ obesity is increasing; male life expectancy is decreasing—for three consecutive years. Dad-deprived boys are much more likely to drop out of high school, resulting in these boys’ unemployment rate exceeding 20% in their early 20's.
The family unit needs to be brought back to the forefront in American society, or society is doomed.
