Description
FRAMINGHAM, MA — The 2022 Boston Marathon is coming up in April, and seven local runners will forge the 26.2-mile course to support the Framingham nonprofit Hoops and Homework.
Each runner will try to raise at least $4,000 each to donate to Hoops and Homework, which provides activities like study help, sports and field trips at two sites in Framingham along Pusan Road and Interfaith Terrace.
Some of this year's runners include first-timers, like local dad Jon Rice and former Framingham High School cross country runner Mariana Kelley. The runners also include race veterans, like Steve Elefson, who ran the extremely wet and cold 2018 event — rated as the worst weather day in race history.
Each runner has created a short video describing why they are running for Hoops and Homework in the 2022 marathon, which will take place on April 18:
