LA GRANGE, IL — La Grange has released its police blotter. Here is information from the reports: Car burglary A car was burglarized between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. Thursday in the 100 block of North Ashland Avenue. A purse was stolen. A worker at a Lyons restaurant later found the purse outside the eatery and returned it. The victim said it appeared a credit card was missing. Suspicious men Two men were seen on a doorbell camera shining their flashlights under cars overnight Dec. 31 in the parking lot at Mega Handlers auto repair shop, 609 E. 47th St. Police believe the men may have been preparing to steal catalytic converters from the cars. Retail theft A man left Walgreens, 2 N. La Grange Road, without paying for $111 in merchandise about 8:30 p.m. Jan. 7. Someone from the store flagged down an officer about the incident. The stolen merchandise was found near the store. No financial loss was reported. Converter theft A catalytic converter was stolen from a car overnight Jan. 5 in the 1100 block of South Stone Avenue. The converter was valued at $2,276. No valid license Abelardo Lujano-Cruz, 52, of Chicago, was cited Dec. 30 at 47th Street and East Avenue on charges of no valid driver's license and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. Police report information is provided by local police departments. Charges are not evidence of guilt. They are a record of police actions on a given day, and people charged with a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
