DANVILLE, CA — The Danville Police Department is currently accepting applications for its citizen's academy this spring.
The citizen's academy allows residents to take a glimpse into the routine of a police officer, from traffic enforcement to crime scene processing. Participants will also learn about SWAT response, police patrols, impaired driving, investigations, crime prevention and criminal prosecution, according to the police department website.
The free class spans seven weeks. The department holds citizens academies in the spring and fall.
