You will: • Apply pesticides, fertilizer, and other healthcare products to trees and shrubs safely and effectively. • Perform other plant healthcare procedures, such as trunk injections, airspade excavation, and girdling root remediation. • Monitor, evaluate, and treat woody plant biotic and abiotic diseases and disorders. • Accurately mix and safely store and transport pesticides. • Operate spray and injection equipment safely and effectively. • Work closely with our Plant Healthcare Manager to ensure effective and efficient treatments and work flow. • Communicate with clients regarding their applications. • Seasonally work in hot and cold and inclement weather conditions. • Work over-time as needed due to the seasonal nature of the job. • Work as a member of our tree crew in the off-season as needed. We offer: • Competitive pay, starting at $18/hr, with the opportunity for certification-based increases • Health insurance reimbursement program • 401K • Professional development support and paid training • Paid holidays • Paid vacation and sick time • Full-time, year-round employment • Over-time pay • Monday – Friday work week • Company uniform • PPE You are: • Knowledgeable and enthusiastic about treating sick trees and shrubs • A positive thinker and communicator • Punctual and reliable • Consistent and detail oriented • A practical problem solver • Able to work independently • A safe driver, with a valid Driver’s License and clean driving record • Able to lift and push/pull heavy equipment • A high school graduate (or GED) or higher The ideal candidate will also: • Hold a college degree in a related field and/or have previous experience in arboricultural operations • Be able to identify common Ohio trees and shrubs • Be experienced in operating spray and injection equipment and working with pesticides • Hold an ODA commercial pesticide applicator category 6A license, or strong desire to obtain licensure • Hold an ISA Arborist certification, or strong desire to obtain certification This is a perfect position for professionals with a background in horticulture, forestry, conservation, and related fields.
