In Search of Upright Bassist for Modern Jazz Trio

Hello, prospective bassist! We are forming a guitar-led trio in the vein of Julian Lage or John Scofield. We (guitar and drums) are two guys in our mid-twenties. We are both accomplished, serious players who have played most of our lives. However, we’re always seeking to learn more! No big egos here. Looking for an adventurous jazz upright player to round out the sound! Influences we are chanelling: Bill Frisell, Nels Cline, Julian Lage, Medeski Martin (Scofield) and Wood, Wes Montgomery, Grant Green—to name a few off the top of my head. The goal is to be able to play standards in the style of classic jazz such as Wes Montgomery or Bill Evans etc.—but primarily perform original music that showcases each member’s unique talents on their instrument.
