Primary FunctionsAt the direction of the Shop Foreman - motor repair mechanics are responsible for the proper disassembly and evaluation of a motor including troubleshooting. Mechanics are also responsible for the assembly, quality control and testing processes involved in motor repair. Field Service positions available to properly qualified individuals.Essential Responsibilities· Disassemble mechanical ac & dc motors, gear units and pumps.· Assemble mechanical ac & dc motors, gear units and pumps.· Diagnose problems and failures of incoming units to ensure the customer’s complaint is resolved.· Interpret and apply dimensional measurements· Measure and record electrical data, mechanical fits and clearances.· Recording all necessary materials in order to complete the repair· Follow all necessary instructions in order to complete the repair· Maintain a neat and orderly work area at all times· Organize and maintain shop tools and equipment· Organize and maintain personal tools and equipment· Willing and able to work OT as required.
Necessary Qualifications· Ability to work independently and in a team setting· Basic knowledge regarding use of a pc· Competent with the use of electrical test equipment, i.e. Multi meter, shop tools, hand tools, pneumatic tools, hoists, etc…· Mechanical aptitude required
