"Dolores" (2021) Gina Margillo A new short film by Gina Margillo with Rosie Herrera and Niurca Marquez. “Sheila” (2021) Gabri Christa A dancer blows out a candle and finds herself in a magical world of memory , dance and presence. An experimental short bio doc starring Sheila Rohan, one of the founding dancers of Dance Theatre of Harlem. “In Balanchine’s Classroom” (2021) Connie Hochman In Balanchine’s Classroom takes us back to the glory years of George Balanchine’s New York City Ballet through the remembrances of his former dancers and their quest to fulfill the vision of a genius. Opening the door to his studio, Balanchine’s private laboratory, they reveal new facets of the groundbreaking choreographer: taskmaster, mad scientist, and spiritual teacher. Founded in 1989, Miami Light Project is a not-for-profit cultural organization which presents live performances by innovative dance, music and theater artists from around the world; supports the development of new work by South Florida-based artists; and offers educational programs for students of every age.
