Description

Curious about Lent? Want to hear Resurrection Stories from singer/songwriters and local artists? Come Wed, Feb 23. Please join us for our first-ever urban Lent Retreat featuring master storytellers/songwriters Mandi Mapes & Mo Leverett and a treat from Chef Kristen Hall of the Essential. You'll get to spend the day in authentic community with kindred creatives engaging stories and songs and ancient texts based around themes of death and resurrection. Much gratitude to our host and city partner Hannah, founder of Hide and Hunter located at 2212 Morris Ave, Suite 102. That evening at 7 pm Mandi and Mo will give a concert and night of story, song, and community set inside the historic Cahaba Pumping Station (circa 1887). Tickets to this concert are separate and you can find them here. InSpero nurtures Birmingham’s creative community to offer their collective power and influence for the good of the city and reconnects churches to artists in authentic, meaningful ways.  InSpero’s intentional acts of beauty and hospitality build bridges between the creative community, Birmingham, and our local churches. Some of the ways we do this include: Creating a safe place for artists to thrive, collaborate, and communicate truth, beauty and hope Facilitating significant conversations between artists, pastors, and the city that build mutual understanding Partnering in Birmingham’s restoration and reconciliation through creative offerings for the city Investing in relationships with individual artists as well as the greater community of creatives in the city
