Looking for small breed house dog/puppy

I’m looking for a small house dog. I can pay up to a $250 rehoming fee. I work from home and would like a sweet pet to keep me company. It doesn’t have to be a puppy (a puppy would definitely be welcome) but I’d prefer it be a young dog as it will be a permanent family pet. I’m not picky about breeds and don't mind if its a mixed breed but please, no pit bulls/bully mixes. I can meet you in person at a safe location and we are willing to travel a bit for the right pet.
