NORTH HOLLYWOOD , CA — A man was severely burned in a house fire Sunday night in North Hollywood.
The fire started outside a home on the 6200 block of North Agnes Avenue. Firefighters were called to the scene just before 8 p.m. Sunday, Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Brian Humphrey said.
They arrived to find a man with second-degree burns to his hands and legs, Humphrey said. He was transported to a hospital in serious condition.
According to the fire department, the fire began as an outside blaze that spread into a garage, then to the outside of the house.
It took 21 firefighters 15 minutes to extinguish the flames, Humphrey said. Firefighters managed to keep the flames to the outside of the home.
