Press release from Meridian Community College: January 15, 2022 Anne Lacy Johnson, Meridian Community College speech instructor and interim fine arts division chair, is MCC's Humanities Teacher of the Year and will present her topic, Handprints on Cave Walls to Posting on Social Media: Seeking Validation Through Our Personal Narratives, on Friday, Feb. 4, at 10 a.m. in the McCain Theater. The Humanities Teacher Awards recognize the contributions of humanities faculty at each of the state's colleges and universities who have made significant advancements in the mission of the humanities in Mississippi. Nominations are made by the college or university president or humanities dean. Each award recipient is required to prepare and deliver a public lecture during. Recipients are also recognized by the Mississippi Humanities Council's annual awards ceremony in the spring.
