EVERGREEN PARK, IL — Instead of cooking tonight, throw those pots and pans out the window, and head over to Portillo's, 4090 W. 95th St. (95th Street and Pulaski Road) and support the Evergreen Park Library Foundation fundraiser. From 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 17, which also happens to be Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Portillo's will donate 20 percent of dinner orders to the library foundation. All you have to do is show the flyer to the restaurant or cashier. The Evergreen Park Public Library Foundation is dedicated to enhancing the quality and scope of the Library's resources. Members of the library foundation accomplish this endeavor through fundraising, advocacy, and memorable events. Without the foundation and community supporters, there wouldn't be: A quiet reading room with a fireplace. The free, community-wide summer reading program. "Evergreen Reads" community-wide reading event. A 75-gallon freshwater aquarium in the Children's Department. Author visits by internationally known, best-selling authors. Collaborative community art projects. The Books-by-Mail delivery program to homebound residents. The StoryWalk at Yukich Fields, 8900 S Kedzie.
