Description
$500 signing bonus paid to selected candidates for openings at our Austin, TX location. Minimum starting $16.00 per hour plus, dependent on experience. The Levy Company is currently hiring a Yard/Warehouse Worker who under general supervision, performs a variety of duties related to receiving, stocking, and maintaining order in the warehouse, yard, and tool room. Essential Functions may include, but are not limited to: Clean and maintain order in the warehouse, yard, and tool room. Perform grounds / yard maintenance to include, but not limited to mowing, trimming, and raking. Empty trash barrels and clean around dumpsters and recycling containers. Efficiently stack, store, load, unload, move, and stage materials, equipment, supplies, and tools in the appropriate areas. Maintain organization and inventory of materials, equipment, supplies, and tools in the warehouse, yard, and tool room. Follow up with items assigned from the tool room to ensure their return. Maintain accurate map of warehouse items. Verify accuracy and quality of material, equipment, supply, and tool deliveries. Record damages and shortages. Gather and submit documentation. Log material, equipment, supply, and tool actions (incoming and outgoing) in assigned inventory system. Order safety supplies and stocked materials. Monitor physical security of materials, equipment, supplies, and tools in assigned work areas and ensure that doors are appropriately secured. Take propane containers to be filled. Check and change air and water filters in office. Required Qualifications: Six months of material handling or warehouse experience. Experience using lawn equipment such as mowers, edgers, and trimmers. Valid Texas driver license. Experience operating a forklift. Required Competencies: Ability to follow oral and written instructions. Ability to communicate effectively. Strong organizational skills. Proficiency in operating a forklift, bobcat, and other similar equipment. Proficiency in operating lawn equipment to include mowers, edgers, and trimmers. Ability to learn and use Windows-based computer applications. Working Environment: Work is performed primarily in outdoor environments with exposure to noise, dust, fumes, noxious odors, gases, mechanical and electrical hazards, moving objects, sharp edges, and all types of weather and temperature conditions. Equipment: Position utilizes a pool vehicle. Physical Demands: Frequent operation of equipment with vibrating and moving parts. Frequent and repeated hand and arm movement to manipulate tools, handles, and levers. Frequent and repeated lifting from ground to various heights up to 50 pounds individually, and team lifting heavier items. Frequent and repeated exerting of force up to 100 pounds. Constant standing / walking for up to eight (8) hours per day. Frequent walking on uneven and / or unpaved terrain. Frequent climbing steps, ladders, and in/out/onto vehicles. Frequent and repeated bending, stooping, crawling, kneeling, reaching, and crouching. Visual acuity to drive, distinguish electrical wire colors, perform manual detailed work, and to read printed and electronic documents. Manual dexterity to frequently manipulate, handle, and feel. Hearing capacity to receive, perceive, and react to common construction and road environment noises. Frequent operation of a motor vehicle, and occasionally for extended periods of time up to eight (8) hours per day, driving to and between work locations.
