Description
Please join on Saturday January 29th from 3-6pm for a wine tasting with special guest winemaker Patricio Santos from Ricardo Santos Winery! The winery is located in Russell, Maipú, 12 miles south of the city of Mendoza, one of the first and most traditional vine-growing regions in Argentina. Patricio Santos has wine in his blood. His dad, Ricardo Santos (aka “Mr. Malbec”) was the first producer to export Malbec from Argentina - Year 1972. Patricio helped plan and manage his family’s La Madras winery, where he is now the winemaker for “El Malbec de Ricardo Santos.” He is also the winemaker for Tercos, the winery he and his brother, Pedro, founded and built from the ground-up in 2004. Scheduled pours: Tercos Torrontes 2020 Mendoza, Argentina The nose offers aromatic notes white flower, citrus fruits, and melon. On the palate, fresh flavors of white peach and lemon give way to grapefruit and pineapple. It finishes with a refreshingly bright acidity. Great with oysters, fresh cracked crab and even lobster. Ricardo Santos Semillon 2019 Mendoza, Argentina The Semillon grapes came from 70-year-old vineyard. The wine has an intense yellow color with delicate notes of honey, pears, peaches. This Semillon has a fine balance between textural weight, moderately high acidity, and lively fruit. It is the ideal companion to appetizers, seafood and light meals Tercos Bonarda 2020 Mendoza, Argentina These grapes are grown on the Tupungato mountainside—one of the highest elevations in the Andes—where the days are warm and the nights cool. This Bonarda is unoaked, vibrant and full of fresh red fruits. Tercos Sangiovese 2019 Mendoza, Argentina Deep red color and great aromatic intensity. Notes of ripe strawberries and black currants. Good balance between fruit and acidity. Ideal for red meats, poultry and pasta. Ricardo Santos El Malbec 2018 Mendoza, Argentina Aromas of dark cherries, plums, and chocolate with undertones of loam and earth. In the mouth, the wine displays a profound core of ripe, blackberry jam fruit, lengthening into a sophisticated weighty finish couple with an elegant silkiness. This tasting is complimentary!
