This year we continue to faithfully served the 100+ people at Riverside Apartments in need. We believe that when you give hope, you get hope! We are celebrating that in 2020 during a global pandemic, we have served over 200,000 lbs of food to thousands of individuals. Join us for our January Hope Day to kick off the new year and bring HOPE to those who need it most! EVENT DETAILS: When: Saturday, January, 23rd Volunteer Shift: 8:30AM-12:30PM Volunteer Role: Riverside Deliveries (Fairview Park Outreach) Where: Report to 3381 Fulton Rd, Cleveland, OH 44109 at 9:30 AM to help pack fresh produce Deliver to Riverside Apartments (we will provide addresses & directions at Volunteer rally)**Special Exhibit during January for our volunteers: January is human trafficking prevention month. Therefore, we will be raising awareness to those that we serve as well as have educational exhibits for our volunteers to explore on site during your time serving. There are countless LOCAL & impactful survivor stories and educational opportunities for everyone to dive deepeer into understanding the realities of this horrific crime in our city. What to expect at Hope Day as a volunteer: Pack Fresh Produce: We have 12,000lbs of fresh produce to pack into bags for those we are serving Saturday. We can't do it without you!Team Rally: Our leaders will walk you through instructions for how to deliver to Riverside residents.Contactless Delivery: We will provide a list for you & the food will be loaded into your car. This role includes the generous use of your own vehicle. We ask that you have someone sign up with you as a passenger to help navigate. Educational Opportunities: We will have exhibits for our volunteers to better understand the realities of human trafficking. VOLUNTEER HEALTH SCREENING: We are required to screen all of our volunteers in order to ensure everyone’s safety. Upon arrival, you will be asked to circle YES/NO to the following questions. If your temperature is over 100F and you answer YES to any of the below questions, we will have to comply with safety guidelines and ask you to head home and rest. Questions will include: Do you have any of the following symptoms? Feverish or chills? YES/NODry cough or difficulty breathing that started in the last 14 days? YES/NOStomach troubles that started in the last 14 days, like diarrhea, stomach pain, or feeling sick to your stomach? YES/NOHave you traveled internationally or across state lines in the last 14 days? YES/NOHave you had close contact (within 6 feet for more than 30 minutes) with a confirmed/probable case of COVID-19? YES/NOReminder of Safety Guidelines for volunteering: Disposable gloves will be provided for all volunteers.Masks are currently difficult for us to find as they are in low supply. We have a limited amount of hand made cloth masks.If you have protective gear please bring it OR consider making your own mask like this one Here.Help us enforce social distancing. Please nod or wave. Refrain from shaking hands, hugging, or touching others.Sanitation stations: We will have sanitation stations all around the event.SERVING ATTIRE: We will be outside for our entire serving time, therefore, please dress accordingly.
