Stream Cooling Study on French Creek in Custer State Park
Jeremy Kientz, the Rapid City Area Fisheries Supervisor for South Dakota Game, Fish, and Parks will be presenting on several stream cooling projects. Kientz has been working with mechanical engineers from North Dakota State University to develop an in-stream chilling unit to create pockets of cooler water. The study is taking place on French Creek in Custer State Park. Kientz will also discuss the effects that the Spring Creek valve has on down-stream water temperatures.
