Wellness and biking enthusiasts, grab your bikes and join a ranger for this mindful, educational tour through J. N. "Ding" Darling NWR. * Bicycles not provided. Visit our concessionaire, Tarpon Bay Explorers, at 900 Tarpon Bay Rd to rent a bike and meet at Refuge by 9:50 a.m. (or bring your own bike)* . *CDC guidelines will be enforced including social distancing, and when that's not possible, wearing a mask. Event Details: Biking is a wonderful way to explore "Ding" Darling NWR's Wildlife Drive, all while keeping your heart rate up. To promote wellness in outdoor spaces, join a Refuge ranger and up to 10 other cyclists for this fun-filled 4-mile loop ride around Wildlife Drive/Indigo Trail and learn about the Refuge's ecology.Meet at the flagpole in front of the Visitor & Education Center by 9:50 a.m. to confirm your attendance. If you don't arrive by this time, your spot may be given to someone else. This tour is limited to 10 individuals and signs-ups are required.Program spans 1.5 hours. The route follows both paved and gravel-shell trails. Program and parking are free, but bicycles are not provided. If you do not have your own bike, please visit 900 Tarpon Bay Rd. to rent one before meeting us at the flagpole.Additional Details: We suggest that you bring water, bug spray, a hat, sunscreen, sunglasses, and anything else you may need to ensure your protection from Florida's climate.
