DARIEN, CT — The Darien Police Department is currently accepting applications for a full-time, entry-level probationary police officer position. In a Facebook post, police said both certified state and out-of-state candidates are invited to apply, however candidates must have one of the following: earned a minimum of sixty credits from an accredited college or universitya minimum of two years full active military duty plus 30 creditsprevious law enforcement experience plus 30 creditsApplicants must be at least 21 years old and a U.S. citizen at the time the application is submitted. Among other requirements, candidates will need to complete and successfully pass a staff interview, police commission interview, polygraph examination, psychological evaluation, medical examination, drug screen and thorough background investigation.
