Description
PITTSBURGH, PA — The Republican National Committee has named Pittsburgh one of four finalists to host the party's 2024 convention.
You might expect that the city and Allegheny County's Democratic leadership would have some objections to that, but not so. New Pittsburgh Mayor Ed Gainey and Allegheny County Executive Rich Fitzgerald both contacted the committee to express their support for the idea.
Will it happen? GOP officials said they plan to visit each city and make a decision in the spring. Patch believes once they get a taste of a Primanti Bros. sandwich, they'll sign the convention paperwork on the spot.
