SOLON, OH — On Monday, residents and businesses in Solon will take a moment to honor the life and legacy of civil rights icon Martin Luther King Jr. As a federal holiday, MLK Day could also affect the hours of government offices, libraries, public transportation, garbage pickup and other services in Solon. Before you head out, here's a roundup of what's open and what's closed on Martin Luther King Jr. Day in our city: Solon City Hall will be closed. Solon City Council has rescheduled its Monday meeting to Tuesday.The Ehrnfelt Recreation and Senior Center will be open. Solon Public Library will be open, but providing curbside-only service. Solon Schools will be closed. Trash collection will not be impacted. A special Martin Luther King, Jr. celebration was organized by the Cleveland Clinic, MetroHealth, St. Vincent Charity Medical Center and University Hospitals.
