BEACHWOOD, OH — On Monday, residents and businesses in Beachwood will take a moment to honor the life and legacy of civil rights icon Martin Luther King Jr. As a federal holiday, MLK Day could also affect the hours of government offices, libraries, public transportation, garbage pickup and other services in Beachwood. Before you head out, here's a roundup of what's open and what's closed on Martin Luther King Jr. Day in our city: Beachwood Public Works will be closed. Trash collection will be delayed one day. Beachwood Public Library will be open.Beachwood Schools will be closed. A special Martin Luther King, Jr. celebration was organized by the Cleveland Clinic, MetroHealth, St. Vincent Charity Medical Center and University Hospitals.
