NOVA / DC band seeking additional guitarist for alternative / indie rock. The Invisibles are a female-fronted, eclectic, amateur indie rock band in DC and NoVA. Travis is the band leader and songwriter. Right now, we are in need of a second GUITARIST. We've met some good people and good players lately, but just not quite right for us. The band's music is quite eclectic, but I've realized that what I need in a guitarist is someone passionate about the 90's alternative /indie side of things - someone excited to play Ok Computer / Siamese Dream / Yo La Tengo type stuff. Must be willing to put in time outside of practice to get up to speed on the material, tolerant of Travis's more experimental tendencies, and open to performing a range of different styles: pop covers, jazz fusion, shoegaze, metal. Think like Porcupine Tree, The Police, Zappa, Yo La Tengo, Hendrix, etc. Some basic understanding of music theory and ability to read chords/tabs, please. We practice weekly, usually Sunday afternoons, usually NoVA (Springfield). Please note that we are a set of talented, dedicated amateurs doing this for fun not money. Our lives shows have been about 10 originals, with recent covers by Radiohead, Prince, Aretha, and Smashing Pumpkins.
