I work at PetSmart and a customer had told me about how he was struggling to find a home for his chameleon before moving states, so I agreed to help him out, thinking I was getting a healthy animal with essentials included. What I didn’t realize is that this guy needs much more TLC than I feel I can provide due to neglect from the previous owner. He was housed in a 16x16x30in cage with too much heat, no mister of any kind, and the incorrect UVB setup. His diet consisted primarily of kale, which has obviously led to developmental issues since veiled chameleons are primarily insectivores.
