Description

Press release from the Bucks County Free Library: January 12, 2022 Bucks County Free Library switched to a new, user-friendly online catalog. The new system is easier to navigate and comes with features to help you get the most out of your library card. If you received an overdue notice for materials you returned while we transitioned catalog systems (January 6 to 14), you will not be charged an overdue fine. We are continuing to check in returned items. Any items you returned that are still marked overdue will be removed from your account, and no fines will be charged. New and Exciting Features Searching the catalog is more intuitive, and you can filter the results to find what you're looking for faster. You'll also notice some upgrades to your online account. You can now opt in to: Personalized reading recommendations A record of all your check-outs since January 2022 Alerts when new items are added to the catalog The ability to renew items for friends or family members One Simple Change Rather than logging in to your online account with your library card and PIN, you'll log in with your library card number and a password. If you need help setting up your password, follow these instructions. "It's like banking," says Patty Dawson, Access Services Administrator. "When you buy something in a store with your debit card, you enter your PIN. When you log in to your bank account on your computer, you enter your password. We're using the same setup." All your holds and other account information have transferred to the new system. Your library card number and PIN did not change. You'll still use your PIN when checking out materials at kiosks in the library or when using electronic resources like databases and e-books. Your Questions Answered Instructions for setting your new password are available on this Frequently Asked Question page. The FAQ page also walks through the new account features, like linking family/friend accounts to your account and opting in to personalized reading recommendations.
