They Need Our Help!! - Dog Adoptions - Hardee Animal Shelter

Events

Sarasota FL

Description

These dogs have the odds of them EVER finding a home stacked against them to no fault of their own. 1. This shelter is outside of major city limits and away from the beach. 2. In fact, Animal Control (the shelter) is located INSIDE the city landfill dump. Don't fear, there is no smell or trash within sight and is quite the opposite you would expect with picturesque country-side surroundings. (google it) 3. This is a kill-for-space shelter. Dogs have 60 days to find homes before being listed at-risk. But if no one knows about them because of the location of the shelter, who will ever come to adopt them? 4. They are only open Mon-Fri from 10-4PM and on Saturday 10AM-12PM only!! Call them (google it or email me) 5. When visitors do come, some (not all!) can be bark for your attention because a.) they rarely get visitors and b.) they are growing impatient to get that comfy couch and warm meal they have been dreaming about for MONTHS. 6. They are medium to large sized dogs. No small delicate fluffy under 10 pound dogs here. 7. Most are Black Mouth Curs or Mixed Breeds (there is even a Lab!) but ALMOST NONE of them are labeled an aggressive breed (Pitbulls etc.) and would make great family pets! Don't know what a BMC is? Reply, and I will give you more information on the best breed I've seen interact with appropriate sized children. 8. They need YOU and the community to help by visiting and spreading the word that these dogs DO exist out there and they DESERVE homes and not to be failed by those that abandoned them. If you've never heard of this shelter before, chances are your neighbors haven't either or know someone who has ever adopted from it. Let's change this starting today!! I recently visited the Hardee County Animal Control Shelter and personally met most of these at-risk dogs that are available on their website. We've volunteered in shelters for many years meeting thousands of dogs and cannot express how much support the dogs at this shelter could really use right now. In my opinion, the best dogs I've ever owned are the ones that have deserve it the most. The staff while limited, have the most enthusiasm and love for getting these animals re-homed. If you have any questions at all about what to expect upon visiting the completely outdoor shelter kennels, please reply and I will provide as much detail as possible or feel free to send me your number and we will call you to provide more information.
