PHILADELPHIA — A former Philadelphia Police officer has been acquitted of child pornography charges after a judge said it was not proven the ex-cop downloaded the files. Emmanuel Folly, 29, was found not guilty of two child pornography charges in a Philadelphia court Wednesday, court records show. Folly was charged in 2017 with sexual abuse of children; possession of child pornography; and dissemination of child pornography after an SVU investigation alleged Folly had a laptop computer with child pornography on it. But this week in court, Common Pleas Court Judge Charles Ehrlich said prosecutors could not prove it was Folly who downloaded the files himself. According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, Ehrlich questioned the notion of only Folly having access to the computer, which was password protected. Authorities said the computer had a program to find people who view, download, and share child pornography. Folly was a three-year veteran of the department and worked in the 18th district before he was fired in 2017 when the charges were announced.
