Tonight the moon exhibits a waxing gibbous phase as it makes its way towards full moon over the coming nights. At 8 pm, the moon will be visible high in the southeastern sky. It is currently positioned in the middle of the Winter Circle – a group of seven bright stars used to navigate the winter skies. The Winter Circle is composed of Sirius, Rigel, Aldebaran , Capella , Castor, Pollux , and Procyon.
