LINCOLN HEIGHTS, CA — A Union Pacific train derailed in Lincoln Heights Saturday, leaving 17 cars off the rails in an area where cargo thieves abandoned thousands of empty boxes. It wasn't immediately clear if there were any injuries associated with the derailment which blocked the intersection of San Pablo Street and Valley Boulevard. The intersection was expected to remain blocked for the foreseeable future, according to USC, which has its Health Science Campus nearby.
