RIVERSIDE, NY — A pedestrian died after being struck in a Riverside hit-and-run Thursday night, police said. According to Southampton Town Police, at 5:28 p.m., 911 calls came in about a man struck by a driver on Flanders Road near Old Quogue Road; the driver fled the scene, police said. Southampton Town Police patrol units responded and rendered aid to David Humberto-Amaya, 33, who is homeless, until the Flanders-Northampton Ambulance Corps responded. Suffolk County Aviation transported Humberto-Amaya, 33, to Stony Brook University Hospital, where he died from his injuries, police said. His family was notified of his death, police said. Southampton Town detectives have asked that anyone who has information to call 631-702-2230.
