Looking for a kind, energetic, housekeeper / caregiver to help my parents with basic daily living activities, run errands, drive to doctor appointments, and clean/take care of the home. My parents are a senior couple in their 70s. You will work mostly with 1 of them per day: Dad on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays; Mom on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Mom only speaks Spanish. So you must be fluent in Spanish, have a positive personality, be sweet but also know when to be stern. Dad uses a walker and Mom uses a wheelchair. They suffer from diabetes, incontinence, low eyesight and just old age in general. So, we need someone compassionate to help improve their quality of life by assisting with showers, cooking, medications, and sometimes just engaging them in conversation. Housekeeping duties will include watering plants, grocery shopping, meal prep, laundry, cleaning, and some errands outside of the home. The right candidate should be able to keep track of household inventory, check the fridge to make sure everything is properly stocked/not expired, and make shopping lists before things run out. We are offering $15/hour cash paid weekly, plus gas mileage reimbursement. This will either be one full-time position or two part-time positions. See more job details below. **Location** Private Home in Bellflower near Woodruff / Rosecrans **Schedule** • The schedule may vary and we are willing to be flexible for the right candidate(s). • If full time: 5 days per week, 35+ hours • If part time: 2–4 days per week, 4–8 hours/day • Most shifts will be 7am – 3pm • Must be available 7am - 6pm **Responsibilities** • Assist with basic daily living activities - - Showering / Diaper changes / personal hygiene - - Changing clothes - - Medication reminders - - Exercise • Meal preparation - - Cook healthy-ish meals - - Make sure seniors have breakfast, lunch and snacks daily - - Make and reheat coffee often - - Offer healthier snack options (such as jello or fruit) when seniors ask for donuts and cheesecake • Housekeeping - - General daily cleaning of the home - - Kitchen and bathroom cleanup - - Sweep / mop - - Wash dishes - - Change bed linens - - Water plants - - Laundry - - Grocery shopping - - Miscellaneous errands (in or outside the home) • Drive to weekly doctor's appointments - - Must be able to carry a wheelchair in the trunk of your car - - Must drive a sedan or low sitting car - - Sorry no tall vehicles such as trucks or SUVs • Companionship for senior couple - - Engage in conversation - - Keep the seniors active **Qualifications** • Bilingual (English/Spanish) • Be patient and comfortable with seniors • Have a reliable car (no tall vehicles) • Valid CA driver's license and auto insurance • Good work ethic • Must be strong enough to assist with wheelchair transfers and help seniors get up • Be sweet and caring but know when to be stern **Pay** $15/hour cash paid weekly + gas mileage reimbursement for driving to appointments / errands
