Description
Anaina Hou Community Park is hiring a facilities landscape laborer. This position is a 30-hour a week position and is ideally suited for someone who has excellent time management, can work at a quick pace while still executing quality results. Working environment is outdoors.
The Facilities positions are in charge of lawn care and mowing, weed whacking, shrub trimming, fertilizing and amendments, and general weeding for the campus except the Botanical Garden. Examples of these duties could include (but are not limited to):
PLAYGROUND AREAS: Mowing lawns, edging, weeding, mulching & fertilizing, cleaning up tree
debris, checking irrigation lines and making repairs as needed.
GENERAL GROUNDS: Mowing lawns, edging, weed whacking and hand weeding, removing debris
from drainage areas, other tasks as identified.
In the event of an imminent hurricane, the FACILITIES position will be expected to participate in disaster preparation, regardless of day-off, including the installation of plywood over windows, moving equipment indoors, and other asset sparing measures. The position will follow the lead of the Director of Operations, Facilities Manager position, and or the Executive Director, as well as take direction from emergency response entities such as KFD, Red Cross, CERT, etc.
Schedule to be determined, occasional emergency afterhours may be required. Position reports to Director of Operations, Events Coordinator & the Executive Director, may take direction from the Events Manager as well as appropriate.
All staff are required to support the Farmer’s Market as assigned.
This position requires annual proof of First Aid, CPR, and AED training, as well as full COVID-19 vaccination, including boosters as indicated from the Department of Health.
