Gilda Sheppard is an award-winning filmmaker who has screened her documentaries throughout the United States, and internationally in Ghana, West Africa, at the Festival Afrique Cannes Film Festival, and in Germany at the International Black Film Festival in Berlin. The film, told by the people who have lived these conditions, unravels intimate stories from interviews brought to life through archival footage, cinema verité discussions, masquerade, and dance , unravelling why children commit violent crime and how these children – now adults – are breaking free from their fate by creating a model of justice that is transforming their lives, our humanity and a quality of life for all our children. This is a community profoundly impacted by the city's disinvestment in housing, education, and employment as well as our policies in the 1990's T.U.P.A.C. "Where Classical Ballet Legends Are Trained!" Tacoma Urban Performing Arts Center (T.U.P.A.C.), a 501(c)3, offers classical ballet and multicultural dance instruction for children and teens ages 4 -18 that aims to provide the discipline, the creativity and the confidence to reach their highest potential in life. Classes in Balanchine Ballet Technique, West African, and Pilates concentrate on proper placement and gradual advancement of motion so our students will be able to attend any and every  hig level  school of ballet with confidence and the technique to go toe to toe with students from the highest regarded ballet schools in the country.
