Rehoming Male Purebred Merle Great Dane

Description

Male Purebred Merle Great Dane without papers. He is exactly 1 yr old. Lovely personality. Gentle giant. Fits every great dane personality characteristic. Rehoming our boy because he is on my heels constantly and I have two tiny toddlers who he knocks down constantly. While he is a gentle giant, he doesn't like to lay down. He likes to be walking around a lot inside, and just keeps stepping on the toddlers following me around the house constantly. I thought he would have learned to keep a couple feet of space from my toddlers by now since he is 1 yr old exactly. But being on the heels of the owner is very common for the great dane breed. He will follow you absolutely everywhere. We just thought we could train him to give our toddlers some space, and we haven't been able to effectively train him in this way. My toddlers are simply afraid of being knocked down now, and are afraid of him... Has all indoor dog training, has been trained to stay off the furniture. He will also go to the door when wanting to go outside. We never locked him up, since great danes really do have separation anxiety and need to be with their owners pretty much at all times if you are home. We arent trying to get rid of our dog to simply anyone. We have tried to make him work for over a year, and have decided that he would probably be a better fit for an individual or family who doesnt have little children, since he will become your shadow, and never leave your side. If this sounds like you, and you have a large yard and can afford to feed and take care of great dane, which actually turns out to be quite expensive at the end of the month, bigger a bill than feeding my horse even, then please send me an email and let me know what your looking for, and maybe we can see if he will be a good fit for you. We paid $1000 for him as a pup, since he didnt come with papers. For this reason, we do believe in asking for a rehoming fee because it helps ensure that you can afford to take care of him appropriately. Please ask me for this fee when you send me a detailed email about what you are looking for in your new best friend. Thank you for considering this thoughtfully before responding to me. I dont want anyone to waste their time, especially me! :)
