This annual event will honor and celebrate the Pikes Peak Heroines of the Pandemic. Join us as we celebrate hosting our annual event once again. Wine Women and Chocolate is Presented by Pikes Peak Women. We are pleased to be partnering with several organizations to make this event possible. Penrose Library District, Girl Scouts of Colorado, League of Women Voters, Zonta, AAUW, Citizens Project, Southern Colorado Women's Chamber of Commerce, and Homeward Pikes Peak. This year will be unique. Pikes Peak Women scanned the community and inquired with our partners to identify women who perservered during the lat two years and amde significant communtiy conributions despite any limitation during the pandemic or in spite of hte pandemic they could not be held back. Join us for some community building and socializing. About HPP Homeward Pikes Peak believes people can recover.Every day we house and counsel peoplestruggling with homelessness and addiction becausethey often have no other options in ColoradoSprings. We have a variety of housing programs for thehomeless – one sober living, one for mentally illadults and one for disabled veterans. There are approximately 1320 homeless adultsand children living in shelter or temporary housingin Colorado Springs. Of those adults, an estimated400 have either a substance abuse orsevere mental illness. We also operate an outpatientsubstance abuse clinic specializing in women’sservices including pregnant women. We help people regardless of their ability topay. This creates a gap in funding and where wecan use your help. We also save taxpayers over$2 million per year just in our housing programsby reducing ER visits, 911 calls, detox stays, andpsychiatric hospitalizations.
