Learn the basics of floral arrangement design with floral design extraordinaire May Bernhardt. Step inside Mayflowers Floral Studio for an evening of floral design taught by our founder and floral design extraordinaire May Bernhardt. You will learn to create stunning arrangements from scratch using fresh, seasonal flowers from trimming to selecting flower combinations, prepping, to vessel selection and basic arrangement and composition. You’ll leave with ideas and a new flower arrangement you can show off! 90 min class. Supplies and flowers are provided. 8 person limit per class COVID-19 Precautions Participants and instructors will be required to wear masks throughout the class. Participants must present their valid vaccination card and ID or a negative COVID-19 test within the last 72 hours. Temperatures will be checked upon entry. May’s approach to floristry is holistic. She understands how to use flowers to celebrate, honor and acknowledge all of life’s milestones. With over 20 years’ experience, May Bernhardt and her floral artists are here to help tell your story.  Mayflowers’ designs use naturally colored, couture flowers from across the globe. Each arrangement and bouquet is hand-made and lovingly constructed to capture the feelings of your special event. They also provide “prêt-á-porter” arrangements in the floral studio. Her extensive experience includes wedding bouquets, party centerpieces, and corporate receptions.  Mayflowers has been featured on NBC4 and in other media. This small business received the Best of Reston award in 2013 for its contributions to community causes and organizations, including Cornerstones, Camp Sunshine and Feed the Hungry.
