Come learn "hands on" to homebrew using simple techniques and classic ingredients and enjoy the hospitality of the Preacher's Daughter. About the Event This is a hands-on class. We will actually be brewing one of our curated Bavarian-style beers together. Our homebrewer/member will walk you through all the steps, teach you how simple homebrewing can be, and give you all the knowledge you need to brew great beer at home. If you can tell time, read a recipe, and boil water, you can make good beer. If you have patience, you can make great beer. We'll show you how. You can do this!! The Preacher's Daughter will have select beers on tap and a Bavarian Meal Special, all for purchase. The Preacher's Daughter is launching a new beer-side to their wine bar. Let's give them a great start. About the Beer Brewer's Choice -- This will be a surprise. About the Homebrewer - Hans of Hans' Bräuhaus (Alameda) One of the founders of Dahoam1516 and the Braumeister at Hans' Bräuhaus, Hans is dedicated to keeping the finest of Bavarian brewing traditions accessible to anyone here in Alameda. Hans brews a variety of malt-forward, hop-balanced beers that are keg-aged so they are smooth with a well-balanced flavor. Brewing for over 15 years, Hans and his beers have won several local brewing awards. Hans is one of the handpicked and curated homebrewers and chefs who offer their skills and knowledge to Dahoam1516 members and guests through our classes and events. In addition to showing you how to brew, there will be select samples available as well as the tap list for the Preacher's Daughter. About the Class The class lasts 4 hrs and we start on time. During the class, there is lots of time for socializing and learning as there are many natural breaks. Food is available from the kitchen at the Preacher's Daughter. They will be serving their standard menu and also a Bavarian Special just for the class. The class will be outdoors/indoors with proper social distancing. We ask that you remain masked unless eating or drinking and remain vigilant around the Brew Kettle since it will contain boiling water. We want to keep everyone safe.
