Description
I have two hermit crabs that I am looking to rehome. I will rehome the crabs without their setup, but I will not sell the setup without the crabs. The first crab I adopted about a year ago from Blue Fish Aquarium and named Mary Shelley. Her actual gender is unknown. She's the larger of the two crabs, and has been through at least one successful molt and grown significantly in her time with me. However, she has never changed shells, and has clearly outgrown the one she is wearing. I've provided many shells in various sizes, but she refuses to switch. This hasn't seemed to affect her in anyway, so I've let it be. The second crab I adopted about 8 months ago from V.I.P. Pets and named Shirley Jackson. Her gender is also unknown, and she's also grown and been through at least one successful molt in her time with me. She does appear to be preparing herself for another. I'm rehoming Mary and Shirley because I am transferring schools soon, and can't take them with me. Additionally, my home is difficult to heat, and because of this, I struggle to keep their tank at a proper temperature, so I think it's in the crabs' best interest to be homed with someone who can better meet their needs. To insure that they go to a good home, I'm asking a fee of $15. The setup includes everything pictured, minus the substrate, because it will be too heavy to transport. They are used to a mix of coconut fiber and play sand with a layer of plain play sand on top. The depth varies from 4 to 7 inches. Their diet has been a mixture of canned fish (in water, no salt added, sardines and tuna), dried insects, hard boiled eggs, and fresh veggies (bell peppers and romaine lettuce are their favorites). They've never pinched anyone and have been lovely pets. I'm asking $200 obo for the setup. Specifically, you will receive: -The 40 gallon terrarium with sliding screen lid ($100+ value) - 3 drift and cholla wood pieces (~$20 value) - 16 unpainted shells of various sizes ($30+ value) - 1 woven grass hide - 2 baskets for hides and storage - 1 handmade popsicle stick rope ladder - burlap backing - 2 heating pads (~$30 value) - 3 dishes for food, saltwater, and freshwater - 1 combination thermometer/humidity gauge ($10 value) - 1 75% full 25 gallon box of Instant Ocean sea salt ($30+ value) - 2 sponges - 1 sphagnum moss patch - 2 deer bones for climbing - 1 cuttle bone - 1 half full jar of dried insect food Please contact me if you are interested or have any questions.
