Description

How can we maximize coherence in our emotions? Neurons and neurotransmitters are not only in our brains, we have countless in our gut and in our heart! Faced with a given expectation, it first reaches the neurological networks of the intestinal track as a 'tingling in the stomach' or as a ‘knot’ in intestinal tension generating a visceral reaction, and then is valued in the heart or third brain. To end up in the cranial brain becoming conscious. Coherence arises when two or more body rhythmic systems synchronize and operate at the same frequency. This may include our breathing rhythms, heart rhythms and rhythmic activity between brain and heart. High degrees of coherence have been associated with an increase in emotional balance, stability, intuition, optimal mental functioning, better memory, increased focus and a decrease in blood pressure levels. It is possible to bring their emotions to the surface to work on them by learning this course’s techniques. With this, Spiritual Directors are then able to work through them with their directees. Cony Tavera is a facilitator for the Archdiocese of Galveston Houston, credentialed catechist, and spiritual director of the Emmaus Spirituality Center. A life-long and dedicated student, in addition to being a graduate of SDI, Cony holds multiple degrees at the Master’s level, most recently on Pastoral Theology at the University of St. Thomas.
