Creative Reuse: Make a T-shirt Rug

Description

Turn your old t-shirts into something useful in this crafty class. Consumers throw away an average of 70 lbs./person of textiles and shoes each year which adds up to over 15 million tons of textile waste in the landfill. Start chipping away at that mountain of waste by repurposing your old t-shirts into a useful crocheted rug while having fun in the process.  Bring 3-4 old t-shirts (we'll have some shirts if you need them). Crochet hooks provided. Prior crochet experience is helpful but not required. Workshop Policies STUDENT SAFETY DURING COVID Your safety is our highest priority at The Evanston Rebuilding Warehouse, so we have put safety protocols in place for all of our in-person workshops to keep everyone safe. Those protocols are: Reduced class sizes (no more than 6 participants in a class).All instructors, assistants, and participants will be required to wear masks while attending workshops (we do not have enough masks to provide to everyone, so you will be required to provide your own mask).Social distancing will be implemented when possible and appropriate.All of the tools, equipment, door handles, cabinet and drawer handles, etc. that are touched will be disinfected both before and after the workshop.WORKSHOP POLICIES Logistics Saturday workshop participants please park along Hartrey St. or in the lot at the southwest corner of Dempster and Hartrey.This workshop is 14+Refunds and Exchanges: If you can’t make it to a class, you can transfer your ticket to someone 14 or older. Just email [email protected] with their name and email address.If the Evanston Rebuilding Warehouse needs to cancel a workshop, we will notify you 24 hours before the class and give you the option of refund or reschedule.We do not currently offer other refunds or transfers between classes.
