Natick Brings Back Mask Mandate Temporarily

NATICK, MA — Natick will have a mask mandate in place for the next few weeks amid a surge in coronavirus cases. The new mandate, approved this week by the Board of Health, goes into effect on Monday and will last until at least Feb. 28, according to the town. "[F]ace coverings or masks will be required for all individuals aged 2 years and above in all indoor public spaces, houses of worship, private spaces open to the public, or where individuals from different households can gather, except where an individual is unable to wear a face covering due to a medical condition or disability," the town said in a bulletin. A statewide mask mandate ended in May, but some cities and towns in Massachusetts have brought them back amid a surge of coronavirus cases — first with the delta variant in late summer, and now with the omicron variant.
