ISLIP, NY — An Islip councilor is collecting the names and biographical information of town veterans to be included in the 2022 edition of the Islip Journal of War Veterans. Councilman John C. Cochrane, Jr., a retired U.S. Navy Captain and Chair of the Islip Town Veterans' Advisory Board, has been maintaining the town's Veterans Office — and as part of that work, he is commemorating Islip vets. Anyone who served at any time from the first Gulf War to the present is invited to send the information listed below, along with their contact information, to Councilman Cochrane's Office at 655 Main St., Islip, NY 11751.
