BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD — Residents in Dunfield were advised to shelter in place Friday morning following a reported barricade situation. One person died from what was believed to be a self-inflected gunshot wound, police told WBAL. A resident's friend had called authorities and asked them to check on the person around 8 a.m., according to the news station, which reported after officers went into the home, they heard what sounded like a gunshot and retreated. Elizabeth Janney/Patch. At approximately 11 a.m., police said the situation on Arwell Court was contained but that people should continue to shelter in place in the area. Holes in the second-floor windows of the townhouse were visible after the shooting, WBAL reported. By 1:30 p.m., authorities said roads were reopening. "An investigation is still pending into this matter and the circumstances surrounding it," the Baltimore County Police Department reported Friday afternoon. Neighbors said police knocked on their doors and told them stay down, when Perry Hall Patch stopped by the area Friday morning.
