GROTON - A Gales Ferry resident is $20,000 richer after purchasing a winning lottery ticket in Groton earlier this week, according to the Connecticut Lottery. On January 12, Axel Jon Atad, of Gales Ferry, purchased a 20X Cash 7th Edition ticket from the Wasu Market in Groton and won $20,000.
